Card 9. The Hermit - A shantak bird?

The Hermit card of the recently completed Major Arcana of my Dreamlands Tarot Deck, based upon the Dreamlands Cycle of HP Lovecraft, with particular inspiration by "The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath". Minor Arcana to be completed over the next few months. They are of course incomplete verisions, without borders, numbers, and titles.

This particular card doesn't really fit in with the rest anymore, as it was the first one to be drawn, inspiring the rest of the deck. It also seems a shame to remove it/replace it for this reason, although, I have a feeling a new rendition will be done to bring it in line with the rest. Still, it's questionable. I've got to give it credit for starting the whole project.

Don't change it. I think it's appropriate for the Hermit to have a different look from the others, and I particularly like the more uneven, mottled texture that separates this from the others. This one appears, interestingly enough, more proactive and aggressive than the others, which I suppose fits in with the attitude of the Hermit or Seeker as opposed to the somewhat complacent "dreaming", almost underwater passivity of many of the others.

Thank you for your thoughts on that- I've been leaning towards keeping him as he is, and confirmation of my reasoning does encourage me to leave it. If it were a different card, and not the Hermit, I might be more inclined to bring it in line with the rest. Bu the Hermit, by his nature, can stand alone. And prefers to.

Thank you very much for the comment, it's appreciated.
