Artist's Comments

Rhalina was staring in horror at the scene. "By the Great Old Gods, Corum- what new foulness is this?"

"It is a foulness which aids us," said Corum grimly. And he called out, "Strike!"

-from The Queen of the Swords, by Michael Moorcock

More Moorcock fanart, of Corum Jhaelen Irsei. It was a rather odd and experimental piece to work on in its way, as, it's sort of a picture in a picture, as, there's two planes of existence being portrayed in the same image, a realm of Chaos where Corum and the birds are, and a cave of Limbo, from which he is calling his formerly-slain allies against the birds using his alien hand and eye. The six fingers on the hand are very much deliberate.

More Corum soon, I suspect, and definitely some Jerry Cornelius to come!

Prismacolor pencils on black textured paper.

Oh GOD, this is fucking amazing!! O_O All those patterns and details everywhere! How do you do that?? This must have taken a very long time to finish, right? Those dragon bird thingies are very impressive. I wish I could draw like this.

As always you have done another masterpeice!

I should try that black paper somtime it looks good to work on, such a spooky picture, gives me the feeling of dread.

My fellow artists. Keep it original, show me your work!

Question all things questionable, and sift through the sand and discover imigination's world of ice and snow..

Both beautiful and eerie--this is really well done! I love the detail, and the subject matter suits your style perfectly. I know I must have said this before, but I particularly admire how you make your pieces look dark without sacrificing the richess of the colors or details.

I really get a sense that the figures in the foreground are emerging from some Other place.

That really is very good... amazing, even.

Im curious.. have you ever considered making stained glass windows? That's really your artistic style reminds me of....

Thanks so much for the comment and fave! It did take quite a while to finish, took up the majority of art-time for a couple of weeks, the original's bigger, just barely fits into the scanner. I think that may be the most critters I've packed into any single image. . . it makes me a little nervous about the rest of the stuff I've got planned based off these stories, since, I know at least a couple will have even more creatures in them. But I'll go and do it anyway.

Thanks so much, I'm happy you like it! =)

Thank you for the comment! If you've not tried working on black, you might want to, the right materials work very well on it, especially prismacolor pencils. All the shadows are already there, so, it's more about drawing in the light. =)

Thank you very much for the comment! I only wish that the scanner hadn't eaten some of the color, the original has somewhat richer and more vibrant hues to it. Scanners are evil like that though, and I'm glad it didn't seem to eat them too badly. =) I'm happy to hear you think the "emerging" effect worked. =D
